Who am I
Andrea Rossi born in 1994, was born in Urbino and lives in Piobbico (PU), a small town in the Marche region.
The artistic path begun as a self-taught, he explores his refined manual skills, over the years, also thanks to the teachings of his father in his workshop.
The creation of the first sculptures takes place in 2020, starting from small models of a few centimeters.
The name of his collection “Briciaccoli” comes from the term of the dialect of his region which means junk, objects now without any value, which he tries to revive by giving them a new look in the form of an artistic work.
Building has always been a passion he has cultivated since he was a child.
“My technique is the result of the cooperation of art, technical physics and above all mechanics.
The raw material of all my works is recycled metal, which consists of various tools and mechanical components in disuse, whether they are made of iron or steel, I try to give a second life to these materials that would otherwise be thrown away. Metallic building tools, agricultural or mechanical materials, with the help of welding I put them together and create sculptures of all kinds.
I prefer the reproduction of life-sized animals and mainly try to make them look alive. I always try to refine my technique by looking for new, curious materials, but above all, i try to constantly test myself, increasing both the size and the difficulty of the sculptures.
The sculpture that I create is only a means of transport for what I consider the true work of art, trying to excite the viewer”
Critical presentation to the artist
By the monographic archive of Italian Art
Having a perfect plastic sense of matter, Andrea Rossi is an intensely expressive, evocative and engaging sculptor, engaged in figurative research, faithful to representation and transgression, gifted with technical ability and a harmonic energy in perfect balance with his plastic sense of matter. Andrea Rossi’s modern art comes to life through different shapes and personalities where unique elements, colors, unexpected details, inclinations and angles coexist that give the sculpture an absolute stylistic rigor, where balance and compositional structure blend perfectly in a complex and careful process which acquires its visual value. Andrea Rossi is placed in the panorama of modern and contemporary art, his creativity is expressed through an unusual research that comes from a talented soul.
His creations respect the anatomy of the subject, the recycled material becomes his indelible mark to find a personal connotation in the great world of art. The artist Andrea Rossi demonstrates a characteristic ability in plastic and graphic processing, a particular dexterity that leads to a remarkable artistic vein, communicating his affectionate attachment to recycled materials with which he creates new forms indicative of a disarming fantasy. Each of his works comes from the inspiration of nature, from everything around him, iron, as well as other materials, lose their properties of hardness, coldness, through the creative process.
Andrea Rossi combines the harmony of shapes with a stylistic classicism, giving the material its elegant component. Bolts, nuts, nails, screws, plates, panels but also common objects such as forks and spoons that maintain the original appearance of their shape by changing their meaning and to which are added imagination and an ingenious technique. The works are complex in construction, following the path of innovation, the artist assembles, welds, combines recycled materials, accumulations of objects in one body, transforming them into unique shapes.
The sculpture created comes to life and interacts with the environment, both for its large size and for the anatomical construction where muscles and details can be glimpsed. Andrea Rossi carries out experimentation and continuous research that lead him to examine and rediscover the material. The force lines of his sculptures compete for space and lie down in a sort of harmonic harmony, the design possibilities that the artist seeks amaze and captivate the observer.
The works are an expression of conceptual elements with a high figurative clash, the sculpture becomes a single container of light where repeated images are mixed that lead the observer into a figurative journey in which the work of art is transformed into an emotional, suggestive message. The contents of the work derive meaning from the greatness of the expressive characters, also assuming an allusive character that makes use not only of the compositional balance and proportions of the represented subject, but also of a characteristic expressive sensitivity that revitalizes the reality of the subject in a sort of writing between the real and the creative.
Andrea Rossi through his technical mastery and his creative ingenuity gives shape to his emotions by shaping diversified materials, complex even in the processing, creating new images that communicate with each other and exchange loving messages. The artist carries out a detailed work that follows in the footsteps of the figurative up to a surreal expression with a futurist echo. The finished sculpture is elegant, luminous, the chosen material inspires a very engaging visual determination to the work.
